Job Description
The Wakapi Platform Engineer is a critical role in building and maintaining the foundational systems that enable scalable, secure, and reliable development and deployment across backend, frontend, and data engineering teams.
This position collaborates closely with SRE, DevOps, Data Engineers, Frontend/Backend Developers, and Architects to ensure seamless integration between cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, micro services and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will focus on automating environments, improving developer experience, and enabling the team to deliver value quickly and reliably.
Responsibilities:
- Platform and Infrastructure Development:
- Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions in collaboration with the Architecture team.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools for repeatable infrastructure deployments.
- Ensure platforms support data visualization, dashboards, APIs, and backend integrations.
Enablement and Automation:
- Create tools and services that enhance developer productivity and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate environment setup, testing, deployments, and configuration management.
- Optimize platform for cost-efficiency, performance, and security.
Observability and Reliability:
- Integrate monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
- Maintain platform uptime and performance targets in collaboration with SRE/DevOps.
- Support incident management, root cause analysis, and post-mortem documentation when needed.
