Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Bakery team at Whole Foods Market. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our bakery department by leading and developing a high-performing team, driving sales growth, and maintaining exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Team Members to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
- Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales growth.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to analyze sales, reports, and labor to inform business decisions.
- Maintain advanced product knowledge and stay up-to-date on new products and promotions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure seamless ordering and delivery processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond promptly to customer needs and questions.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Conduct timely and thorough performance evaluations to ensure Team Members are meeting expectations.
- Communicate and model Whole Foods Market's vision and goals to Team Members and customers.
Requirements
- 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
