Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team at Daimler AG (Canada). As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust cybersecurity solutions to protect our vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development
    • Collaborate with our global security team to design and develop comprehensive cybersecurity solutions based on the latest Mercedes-Benz E/E architecture.
    • Develop and implement cybersecurity mechanisms using on-chip security hardware and software solutions to harden our systems.
    • Design and implement mechanisms such as Trust Zone/TEE, TLS/PKI/Certificate Management, Secure Boot, and Secure Vehicle Communication to protect our product security.
  • Risk and Cybersecurity Assessment
    • Conduct risk and cybersecurity assessments for our architecture, operating systems, sub-systems, and components of our infotainment system products.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Communicate and collaborate with our global and local security design teams to ensure clear and accurate requirements.
  • Software Development and Testing
    • Develop and execute module unit tests and integration tests to verify and validate our security software.
    • Interface with our system and application engineers to develop and specify security software requirements.
    • Follow software processes such as ASPICE and agile in design, development, and testing.
  • Support and Collaboration
    • Support other related teams such as vehicle testing, validation, and manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field, with 4+ years of working experience in security software development.
  • Experience
    • At least 7 years of experience in software design and code writing using C/C++, Java, and/or scripting programming languages on Linux/Android/QNX/AutoSar platforms.
    • Experience in security-related software/product development of embedded devices, SSL/PKI, cryptographic algorithms.
    • Familiarity with SoC/MCP/MPU platform hardware security mechanisms such as Trust Zone/TEE/HSM/Secure Boot/Secure Storage and related software architecture.
    • Experience in network protocols (IP, TCP/UDP, RTP, FTP, SSH, Telnet, HTTP, etc.) and accompanying tools (Wireshark, TCPDump, etc.).
    • Good understanding and/or knowledge of automotive electronics architecture.
    • Fluent oral English communication capability to internal/global teams and customers.
    • Teamwork spirit, communication skills, task and work planning skills, and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge
    • Development experience in vehicle buses, e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and bus protocols like UDS, DOIP, SOME/IP, and related diagnostic mechanisms is preferred.
    • Familiarity with China and European cybersecurity regulations (ISO-21434, ECE R155) and processes is preferred.
