Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the entire payroll processing cycle, including year-end procedures.
  2. Collect and enter/upload data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll information.
  3. Update payroll records by entering changes in components, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and job title and department/division transfers.
  4. Prepare and extract payroll reports, compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  5. Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other statutory payments as required.
  6. Resolve payroll discrepancies/queries by collecting and analyzing information.
  7. Analyze payroll information to answer questions and requests.
  8. Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
  9. Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  10. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  11. Ad hoc reporting and other duties as required.

Requirements

  1. Data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. General math skills with ability to calculate complex payroll formulas.
  3. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to explain complex payroll concepts.
  4. A respect for confidentiality and ability to maintain sensitive payroll information.
  5. Multi-tasking and organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines.
  6. Previous payroll experience in high volume, full function payroll, preferably using large ERP systems.
  7. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with ability to create complex spreadsheets.
