At Vestas, we are seeking a skilled Transport and Customs Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, international trade, and transportation. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of components, while also ensuring compliance with customs and tax regulations in LATAM countries. Key responsibilities include coordinating with LSPs, brokers, and transport companies, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to ensure safety, customs, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Taking safety and quality as the forerunner of delivering the expected result.
  • Ensuring that all LSPs are instructed and following safety procedures in all operations.
  • Coordinating with all involved stakeholders, including different brokers, freight forwarders, and transport companies, to ensure LATAM shipments are properly on track and reported, following customs and tax compliance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with proactively approaching stakeholders, including supply chain, service, construction, factories, procurement, to attend and ensure safety, customs, tax, finance, account, and systems compliance processes.
  • Planning and coordinating reverse logistics of transport equipment returning to the factories and sites.
  • Preparing reports, schedules, and analysis that may be required by the Regional/Global Transport teams.
  • Closing cooperation in the transport team improving the operation in the region and meet the KPIs from the transport department.
  • Investigating and supporting problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues, monitoring, and reporting transport risks.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and continuously improving transport performance.
  • Assisting with the Transport Budget preparation & control process, ensuring high integrity in our numbers by having accurate figures in Inbound reports and a high-quality budget on well-documented assumptions.
  • Controlling transport forecast/spend reporting risks & opportunities.
  • Working to optimize and reduce overall logistics and customs costs.
  • Auditing invoices / controlling payments of nominated service providers.
  • Supporting the team to recover NCR/Claim costs disputes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistic, Business, or International Studies/Foreign Trade preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a similar position focused on Logistic/Transport in the region.
  • Solid understanding of international trade terminology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and practices, in-depth knowledge and hands-on Transport & Customs set-up mainly in Lat South Countries.
  • Solid systems skills including proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), favorably including hands-on experience in Power BI and SAP BI.
  • Advance English language skills, written and spoken. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
