MuleSoft’s goal is to help our customers innovate faster by empowering them to build APIs and integrate systems. We’ve done that primarily by giving powerful API and integration design, development, and management tools targeted for developers. MuleSoft Composer lets the business users achieve the same, through a no-code integration platform. We have built a full-stack product for workflow design and execution which behind the scenes invokes complex custom code mapped to the user's flow design.
We are looking for strong Software Engineers as we go through the growth phase of this critical product.
**Responsibilities**:
- Problem Solving - Strong problem solver with analytical ability to work with a complex mesh of micro-services. Ability to work through ambiguous problem areas. Transforming ambiguity into clarity for self and the team.
- Build - Design and Implement backend micro-services and perform code and design spec reviews for peer Engineers.
- Build - Understanding of microservice design patterns.
- Quality - Passionate about delivering high-quality products and services and writing clean, solid, maintainable code. Know about shift left mindset. Document processes to help towards developer productivity.
- Quality - Improve the monitoring and observability of the services.
- Cross-Functional - Partner with Product, UX, Engineering while working through PRDs to design spec.
- Cross-Functional - Understand and/or ready to pick up tools to support a remote-friendly setup, inclining towards written async communication wherever possible.
- Customer-first mindset - Inclination to support prod issues resolution through triaging and improving processes around it.
- Team - Value team excellence over individual productivity.
- Team - Participate in and promote architectural initiatives, balancing long-term velocity with short-term customer needs.
Required experience
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals including Data Structures, Algorithms, Design patterns, Relational schema design
- Strong programming skills in one of the following languages: Java, C#, Python, Go with the ability to ship well tested code. Quality mindset.
- Experience developing client-side code via JavaScript/TypeScript/Ajax/etc
- Problem solving ability around an unfamiliar codebase, using tools available to understand complex ecosystem of microservices.
- Strong System Design Skills with the ability to reason through different options.
- Experience with microservices architecture design and API design. Technologies like HTTP, REST, Spring-boot, AWS, Kubernetes, microservices libs ecosystem. Experience with RDBMS like Postgres, Oracle, MySQL and/or NoSQL systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with dev tools like git, Jenkins, react, nodejs
- Experience with Design Systems and building UI component-based frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that inspire and motivate all levels of the staff
- Self-motivated taking initiative independently, learn quick, meet deadlines and debug/problem-solve
- Agile software development experience.
