**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and refine search strategies using semantic vector-based search and lexical search methodologies to enhance search result relevancy.
- Configure and fine-tune semantic vector search (SVS) or Smart Answers within LucidWorks Fusion, ensuring optimal performance and accurate search results.
- Familiarize with LucidWorks Smart Answers product, perform data cleaning for training datasets, and configure supervised training models for Smart Answers.
- Utilize Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) stages for indexing and querying in Smart Answers/SVS to improve search result relevancy and minimize zero search results.
- Leverage your strong experience in LW Fusion indexing and query pipeline to achieve desired search outcomes.
- Expertise in Apache Solr to fine-tune search result relevancy using built-in functions.
- Determine appropriate sizing for microservices dedicated to SVS/Smart Answers, ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.
- Develop custom JavaScript stages using Java's javascript engine Nashorn to enhance search functionality.
- Utilize your understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to optimize search results by incorporating NLP techniques.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in semantic vector-based search, lexical search, and search relevancy optimization.
- Proficiency in configuring and fine-tuning semantic vector search or Smart Answers within LucidWorks Fusion.
- Strong understanding of LucidWorks Smart Answers product and supervised training model configuration.
- Extensive experience in leveraging OOTB stages for indexing and querying in search solutions.
- Deep expertise in Apache Solr and its functions for search result tuning.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and sizing considerations for search-related services.
- Strong proficiency in writing custom JavaScript stages using Nashorn or similar technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical concepts.
