The Social & Economic Pillar of our campaigns focuses on transforming dynamics that prevent us from addressing the climate and biodiversity crises. It operates on the premise that meaningful social and economic change is essential—change that meets people’s needs alongside climate and nature goals. Its aim is to promote new economic models, increase funding, and ensure the implementation of climate and biodiversity solutions that protect both people and the planet. The Pillar also seeks to build a broader base of support for urgent action in an increasingly polarised world.

**In this role you will**:

- Define and communicate the Social and Economic programme’s vision and strategy.
- Conduct stakeholder consultations to gather insights and feedback on program initiatives.
- Integrate social and economic perspectives into environmental policies.
- Design and manage research projects to support program strategies.
- Develop research proposals and ensure quality outputs.
- Provide technical support to National and Regional Offices in localising policy objectives.
- Create action plans for social and economic issues in regional contexts.
- Conduct workshops and training on policy analysis and advocacy.
- Analyse literature on environmental transition and synthesise recommendations.
- Track trends in social and environmental policies, providing strategic insights.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate social, economic, and environmental approaches.
- Build partnerships with organisations, academia, and advocacy groups.
- Organise events to bring together key stakeholders in social and economic issues.
- Develop joint initiatives and campaigns to amplify Greenpeace’s impact.
- Set and track metrics for program effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and present findings for internal and external audiences.
- Support funding proposals with expert analysis.
- Engage with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for evidence-based policies.
- Assist in developing advocacy strategies and campaign materials.

- Expertise: Significant knowledge and extensive experience in campaigning, research, and political articulation.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to critically analyse data and derive actionable insights.
- Research Methodology: Skilled in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research projects.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
- Project Management: Organisational skills to manage projects, deadlines, and team dynamics.
- Collaboration: Ability to foster cooperation across teams and departments.
- Advocacy Knowledge: Understanding of advocacy strategies for public engagement.
- Networking Ability: Skilled in building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate changing environments.
- Data Interpretation: Proficient in analysing data to inform policy recommendations.
- Fluency in English, and fluency in another language is a plus.
- Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.
- Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
