Core mission:
The Medical Affairs managers serves as an internal scientific expert under the direction of the Medical Director to support the business units and has responsibility for setting the strategy and overseeing execution of Medical affairs SOPs, Education, Publications,Scientific communication and External Expert Engagement. This role acts as a medical affairs interface for the dedicated teams (i.e., sales, marketing, and commercial) supporting, coordinating, and implementing projects according to the business unit’s needs and specifications. This position also provides clear and consistent medical and scientific input throughout the pre-launch activities and commercialization phases for all related products/services in this area of expertise. In addition, with direction from the Medical Director, this role works closely with colleagues in the local and regional Business Unit to define clinical and scientific communication strategies ( product scientific differentiation) to advance science related to products and address gaps in commercial strategy.
Main responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Galderma colleagues to provide day-to-day guidance and assistance in the execution of medical area strategy and tactics with appropriate use of resources
- Provides leadership and strategic direction in appropriate cross-functional company projects specifically with commercial and medical affairs teams in essential functions such as Clinical Trials, Publications, congresses activities, KOL mapping and development.
- Produces, coordinates, manages, and presents, when necessary, medical and scientific content for given medical activity including Pre-launch and post-launch medical activities, including planning and execution of these events: Medical Advisory Boards, Steering committees, Consensus papers, safety board, Medical Dinners.
- Oversees the development of the strategic publication plan in collaboration with Regional Med Affairs Colleagues in support of Strategic Objectives.
- Stablish a collaborative partnership with Costumer Education team, aiming to increase scientific differentiation of Galderma Brands/ products locally and regionally and ensuring an accurate and effective dissemination of Galderma strategic messages by the commercial team
- Directs and oversees medical and scientific content of educational, scientific, and clinical information materials in collaboration with GAIN team
- In collaboration with other medical managers, directors and/or medical scientific liaisons, generate new/innovative concepts and support the marketing team in the development of new claims to drive strategies that are supported by scientific and clinical data
- Manages Field Based Medical team (MSLs), if applicable.
**Requirements**:
- Medical doctor or healthcare professional or Advanced degree required (MD or PhD )
- Minimum of 3-5 years in industry positions.
- Demonstrates the ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms for the collection, review, and dissemination of medical information
- Ability to travel overnight as needed up to 10- 15%
- Experience within a corporate setting and an understanding of the relationship between marketing/brand teams and medical/regulatory affairs teams is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
