The SAP Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is in a constant state of evolution to keep pace with the rapidly changing landscape, including new technologies, stakeholder expectations, and regulations. GPO is evolving into an agile and strategic procurement entity, aiming for optimal collaboration and partnerships with all key stakeholders across the ecosystem. SAP's vision of transforming every business into an intelligent enterprise and its ambitious growth targets significantly influence GPO, driving continuous enhancement toward a world-class procurement operation as expected by SAP's board.

To this end, SAP's Global Procurement Organization is seeking enthusiastic new team members to bolster its transformation efforts.

ABOUT THE GPO MARKETING CATEGORY

The Marketing Category Team, a division of the Global Procurement Organization, offers exceptional business support to both internal and external partners. This team is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies in close collaboration with various stakeholders, including business owners, legal experts, and finance professionals. The GPO Marketing Category oversees procurement activities in areas such as Advertising & Brand, Paid Media, Direct & Digital Marketing, Events, Market Research, Merchandise, Public Relations, and Sponsorships.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Procurement Specialist to assist with the Marketing domain.

EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as a consultant and trusted business collaborator for key stakeholders
  • Understanding SAP's present and future needs
  • Executing all RFIs and RFPs in the relevant marketing domains
  • Leading all contracting and compliance tasks, including licensing as necessary
  • Conducting market analyses, benchmarking, and exploring market capabilities to gather vital market insights
  • Researching and recommending new Suppliers related to the relevant areas
  • Managing suppliers, including assessing supplier performance

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related field
  • Significant experience in Marketing Procurement, with a solid grasp of end-to-end operational processes on the Marketing side
  • Understanding of end-to-end procurement and sourcing strategies
  • Open-minded and proactive in driving change
  • Familiarity with purchasing systems like SAP Ariba and/or SAP Fieldglass, MS Office applications, and procurement processes
  • Ability to collaborate in international teams and virtual environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation abilities, along with strategic thinking

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Marketing environment
  • Ideal of 5+ years of progressive procurement and category management experience in a multinational setting
  • Proven capability to collaborate, identify business needs, and translate them into actionable procurement strategies
  • Ability to establish clear priorities and efficiently manage multiple demands and time resources
  • Experience in a fast-paced complex environment, preferably in a digital services background
