Minimum 10 years of direct work experience with commercial aerospace and/or military specifications, standards and practices - preferably with ARP-4754, RTCA DO-160 F/G, MIL-STDs; RTCA DO-178B and DO-254


Ability to integrate new technologies into products to insure that the organization is meeting its high quality goals and objectives.

Ability to converse and collaborate with multiple departments spanning multiple disciplines.

Ability to identify key financial performance indicators and their relationship with project indicators.

Excellent grasp of diverse, fundamental electronic engineering concepts especially related to embedded systems', software and hardware development.

Practical experience with risk management, product testing and qualification, reliability analysis and capability studies.

Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with mínimal supervision.

Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, development plans, test procedures, and design documents.

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Senior Manager of Engineering

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Engineering and Research & Technology is responsible for the leadership and motivation. Engineering; the development of competent technological and engineering solutions; the effective planning and scheduling of activities and resources. Identification; the effective management of Sub-Contractors and the effective management of Client Expectations and ongoing Client relationships. The Senior Manager of Engineering and R&T is expected to achieve Business goals.

Project Profits and Department targets are expected; The Senior Manager is plays a key role in the strategy development for key project proposals to prospective clients.


Responsibilities:

Set goals and objectives for Engineering Department, Research & Technology, and Process Improvement.


Ensure Areas of Responsibility meet goals and objectives by helping to identify and coordinate tools, resources, and training as needed.


Ensure that appropriate skilled resources are provided to enable engineering support and training support in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Provides technical management and leadership to engineering managers.

Actively participate in business and strategic planning and providing business technology roadmaps.

Interfaces with Parent Company on joint strategies, common tools and Research and Technology projects.

Performs individual assignments as directed; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department. and the surrounding community.

Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.


Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including organization goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department.

Interface with all other departments in a cooperative way to ensure that all the company objectives are met.

Manage and oversee the Test Development and Support group to provide efficient and cost effective solutions for product testing and life cycle management

Overall responsibility for technical development, systems design and architecture, and managing engineering group operations

Build and inspire a team of talented individuals.

Participates in the contract negotiations and maintenance of ongoing relationships with a variety of vendors

Serves as a strong technical resource for general product development, product improvement and project management.

Effectively applies and maintains our methodology and operational procedures and enforces required project and aerospace standards.

Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects.

Ensures project documents are complete, current, and managed appropriately.

Forecast engineering load and Recruit and Hire staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Advanced Degree is an asset (Masters, MBA, etc.)

Minimum 5 years leading groups
