About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled and ethical Penetration Tester to join their security team based in Sandton . This role is dedicated to proactively identifying vulnerabilities in the organisation's systems, networks, and applications before malicious actors can exploit them. You will conduct comprehensive security assessments, simulate real-world attacks, and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations for remediation. The ideal candidate is a curious and methodical individual with a passion for finding security weaknesses and helping to strengthen the organisation's defenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform network, web application, and system penetration tests using various methodologies and tools.
• Identify and exploit vulnerabilities, documenting findings and their potential impact.
• Develop detailed reports outlining vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed effectively.
• Stay current with the latest penetration testing techniques, tools, and threat landscapes.
• Conduct security reviews of new systems and applications during the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, GPEN) are highly advantageous.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing.
• Proficiency with a wide range of security testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and network exploitation techniques.
• Experience with scripting languages for automating testing tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly.
