We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join Medallia’s Commercial Contracting team, supporting the LATAM and the Americas regions. This key professional will negotiate complex SaaS contracts within the fast‑paced, AI‑powered customer experience management industry. As a strategic partner to the Sales and Professional Services teams, the Legal Counsel is critical in driving sound commercial decisions through the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex agreements with some of the world's largest and most respected companies. Success requires deep expertise in contract law and commercial risks, coupled with strong business acumen, exceptional cross‑functional partnering skills, and the ability to drive consensus and resolution. Each enterprise SaaS deal that we close is a step towards creating and cementing relationships across industries, and each agreement is a testament to our institutional willingness to improve upon the status quo. As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for leading smart, relationship‑focused negotiations with our customers including many of the best brands among the Fortune 500. And you will be empowered to find creative, efficient ways to close deals that deliver value to both Medallia and our customers. Demonstrate excellent writing skills to ensure that contracts express complex ideas in clear, straightforward prose and that surrounding documentation persuades our counterparties toward efficient deal closure. Industry expertise: rapidly develop a progressive and nuanced understanding of Medallia’s business and the broader industry to complement a strong foundation in commercial law. Be a legal generalist. Provide legal counsel on a broad range of legal issues, such as artificial intelligence, intellectual property and privacy laws. You will help business stakeholders across the company navigate legal matters. Process transformation: focus on creative transformation by continuously evaluating internal processes and driving improvements to ensure the team delivers superb legal counseling and support at scale. Candidates based in the Buenos Aires or Mexico City vicinity will be prioritized as this role is Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: Law Degree from an accredited university Título de Abogado (Argentina) or Licenciatura en Derecho (Mexico) Bar Admission: Active professional license and in good standing Matrícula with CPACF or provincial bar association (Argentina) or Cédula Profesional (Mexico) At least 3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, government agency, and/or in‑house legal department. At least 2 years experience negotiating commercial contracts including cross‑border commercial transactions and across multiple jurisdictions in the Americas (US and LATAM). Languages: full professional proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken as the role involves daily negotiation and drafting for US and LATAM based clients and stakeholders. A portion of the interview process will be conducted in English, including a brief legal drafting exercise. Preferred Qualifications Advanced Degree: LL.M. with a focus on Corporate or Commercial Law. 3+ years of law firm experience. Broad experience negotiating commercial contracts in the technology sector. Highly collaborative person who supports their colleagues, who champions our mission and wants to win as a team.
