Core Values: M = More…with Less P = Pursue Growth and Learning A = Accountability C = Communication T = Teamwork Position Summary The Loss Mitigation Paralegal (remote) safeguards PROVE’s lien and recovery rights by investigating high‑risk cases. The role focuses on two core areas: (1) identifying and resolving No Longer Represented (NLR) cases, and (2) recovering misdirected settlement funds (Third‑Party Payments or 3PP). The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, legal acumen, and persistent follow‑through to protect PROVE’s financial interests. Core Responsibilities 1. NLR Case Investigation: Manage all aspects of NLR case reviews, confirm representation status, engage plaintiffs, and secure up‑to‑date case and insurance information to preserve PROVE’s lien position. 2. Plaintiff & Law Firm Outreach: Serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys, paralegals, and plaintiffs, maintaining consistent communication to obtain missing information and drive case resolution. 3. Third‑Party Payment (3PP) Recovery: Investigate and resolve situations where settlement funds were improperly issued, verify payment details, secure proof, and pursue reissuance or refunds until fully resolved. 4. Case Documentation & Risk Management: Record all findings, communications, and actions in PROVE’s case management system, identify early signs of risk, and ensure lien protections remain intact. 5. Collaboration & Escalation Support: Work closely with Resolution Managers, leadership, and General Counsel on escalations, repayment plan approvals, and complex case resolutions, providing clear summaries and support documents. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; law degree or legal training strongly preferred. 2–5+ years of experience in personal injury, insurance claims, collections litigation support, medical lien servicing, or related legal work. Excellent spoken and written English (C1/C2 level). Comfortable with high‑volume outreach and managing sensitive plaintiff communications. Strong investigative skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively. Professional, clear, and empathetic communication style. Preferred Experience Prior experience with U.S. personal injury matters, medical liens, or insurance billing. Familiarity with law firm operations, claim workflows, or case management systems. Experience working remotely with U.S. clients, law firms, or insurance carriers. Traits of a Successful Candidate Persistent, organized, and detail‑driven. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex cases. Confident communicator who handles sensitive conversations with professionalism.
