Senior Deterministic Safety Analyst (DSA) / Analista Sénior de Evaluación Determinística de Seguridad (DSA) At AtkinsRéalis, one of Canada’s largest private‑sector nuclear engineering groups, we are seeking a Senior Deterministic Safety Analyst to support the design of new nuclear power plants and the operation and refurbishment of existing CANDU plants. This role is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Your Role Within The Team Responsible for deterministic safety assessments of plant systems (process & safety), especially the heat transport system (HTS) and containment, and for severe accident progression analysis. Analyze postulated accidents using state‑of‑the‑art methodologies and computer codes. Develop approaches for safety analysis tasks, create analysis basis plans and reports. Execute assignments independently, ensuring results meet project requirements. Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work within a major project or a project of considerable scope. Apply broad knowledge of engineering precedents and related discipline principles to assess feasibility and soundness of proposed methods. Provide technical recommendations that are accepted as accurate and feasible, and review them for overall soundness of judgment. Qualifications Relevant honours degree in Engineering or Science with at least 10+ years of experience. Proficiency in Linux and Windows environment; competency in FORTRAN programming is desirable. Strong knowledge of thermal‑fluid sciences (fluid flow, heat transfer, multiphase flow, thermodynamics). Experience with safety and licensing codes such as CATHENA, NUCIRC, ADDAM, GOTHIC, and MAAP. Good understanding of CANDU design, especially HTS, plant control, containment, and moderator systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to work under pressure, be flexible, and manage work within budget and schedule constraints. Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and workshops.
