We are looking for a Market Surveillance Team Lead to oversee a team of analysts responsible for detecting, investigating, and preventing market manipulation, abusive trading behavior, and rule violations across our trading platforms. This role combines hands‑on analytical work with leadership responsibilities, requiring a proactive professional who can guide the team in ensuring transparency, fairness, and integrity across crypto, derivatives, and futures markets. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of trading behavior, regulatory frameworks, and market surveillance systems, paired with the ability to develop people and drive operational excellence. Job Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Market Surveillance Analysts. Set performance goals, prioritize workload, and oversee daily task distribution. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Provide regular coaching and feedback to ensure team members meet performance and development objectives. Serve as the escalation point for complex cases or critical incidents. Market Surveillance & Oversight Supervise real‑time monitoring of trading activity across multiple platforms to detect suspicious patterns, market manipulation, or abusive conduct. Ensure timely review and escalation of alerts in line with internal SLAs and regulatory standards. Perform quality assurance reviews of analysts’ case work and ensure consistency in investigations. Trade Analysis & Investigations Conduct and oversee post‑trade forensic analysis of flagged transactions. Manage end‑to‑end investigations, from data collection and interviews to report drafting and regulatory submission. Present key findings and risk insights to senior management and the Chief Regulatory Officer. Regulatory Compliance Ensure the team’s activities align with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA, FCA, MiFID II, DFSA, VARA). Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and requests for information. Monitor evolving regulatory developments and ensure internal processes remain compliant. Process & Policy Development Lead the refinement and automation of surveillance workflows, alerts, and escalation procedures. Collaborate with Technology and Risk teams to enhance system capabilities and data quality. Contribute to the development and enforcement of internal compliance frameworks, KYC/AML standards, and reporting procedures. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Legal, Risk, and Operations teams to maintain effective information sharing and alignment. Represent the Market Surveillance team in internal committees and cross‑departmental initiatives. Coordinate with external regulators and industry bodies where appropriate. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Mathematics, or a related field (Juris Doctor or equivalent preferred). 5+ years of experience in trade surveillance, market oversight, or regulatory compliance within financial services or crypto. Proven experience managing or mentoring analysts or investigators in a high‑paced, data‑driven environment. Solid understanding of market manipulation typologies, futures and derivatives trading, and risk management principles. Hands‑on experience with trade surveillance platforms (e.g., Nasdaq SMARTS, Eventus, Solidus Labs, or equivalent). Excellent communication and report‑writing skills with the ability to summarize complex findings clearly. Strong analytical mindset, with proven ability to make decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and an interest in the evolving landscape of digital asset compliance.
