We’re looking for a technical Product Lead to drive the strategy, design, and execution of our core payments infrastructure. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of product and engineering and is passionate about simplifying complex financial flows through world-class APIs and services. What You’ll Be Doing Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AstroPay’s payment rails infrastructure across LatAm, Europe, and the US. Design and evolve payment APIs that power all internal and external payment experiences—collection, disbursement, FX, and reconciliation. Integrate and optimize local rails such as PIX, CVU, SEPA, ACH, SPEI, and more to enable seamless global reach with local finesse. Ensure reliability, traceability, and compliance across all transactions, supporting real-time tracking, error handling, and ledger integrity. Collaborate with Engineering to define scalable architecture and service boundaries, ensuring high availability and low latency. Partner with Risk, Finance, and Legal to incorporate controls, safeguarding, and settlement transparency into the core payment flow. Drive adoption of your platform by building clear documentation, sandbox environments, and internal SDKs. Monitor KPIs and logs, and work with Data and Ops teams to diagnose bottlenecks and uncover growth opportunities. What We’re Looking For You are a radical owner—you take full accountability for your product, from architecture to uptime to adoption. You don’t pass the ball; you lead the play. You obsess over delightful product experiences, even in the most technical domains. You believe infrastructure can and should feel beautiful. Proven experience building technical platforms or APIs in fintech or payments. Deep knowledge of local payment rails (e.g. PIX, ACH, SEPA, SPEI) and cross-border money movement. Strong understanding of money flow architecture: ledgers, balances, settlements, reconciliation, error management. Experience working with engineering teams on scalable, modular, and reliable system design. You are product-obsessed and detail-oriented, balancing long-term infrastructure with near-term shipping. You’re a strong communicator, capable of aligning business, ops, and technical teams. Bonus Points Experience in regulatory environments (e.g. EMI, safeguarding, compliance automation). Built APIs for platforms serving both internal squads and external partners. Worked with ledger systems, FX engines, or remittance flows. Familiar with payment orchestration, smart retries, or risk-informed routing.
