Get to Know Darwoft
At Darwoft, we build digital products with heart.
We are a Latin American technology company partnering with organizations around the world to create high-impact software products and engineering solutions. Our culture is built around trust, collaboration, continuous learning, and long-term relationships.
We work with distributed teams and technically challenging projects where engineering quality, ownership, and real business impact matter.
About the Project
We’re partnering with a U.S.-based cybersecurity company specializing in Identity Assurance, passwordless authentication, and enterprise endpoint security .
The company develops security products designed to help organizations protect user identities, devices, and access to critical systems while reducing the risks associated with passwords, phishing, compromised credentials, and unauthorized access.
Its technology operates in complex enterprise environments where authentication, identity verification, endpoint security, and reliability are business-critical.
The platform leverages modern authentication standards and technologies such as FIDO2, WebAuthn, passkeys, cryptography, and phishing-resistant authentication , helping organizations strengthen how users securely access corporate applications and infrastructure.
From an engineering perspective, the company builds software that integrates deeply with operating systems such as macOS and Windows , including components related to authentication, credential management, system security, privileged operations, and endpoint protection.
These solutions are designed to operate reliably across large fleets of enterprise devices, creating complex engineering challenges around operating system internals, security frameworks, permissions, software distribution, system upgrades, compatibility, performance, debugging, and secure communication .
About the Role
We’re looking for a Principal macOS Systems & Security Engineer to join this highly technical cybersecurity project.
This is not a traditional macOS application development role .
The position is focused on building software that operates much closer to the operating system, integrating deeply with native macOS capabilities and security mechanisms.
You’ll work on system-level and security-sensitive components related to authentication, identity, privileged operations, inter-process communication, credential management, and enterprise endpoint protection.
As a Principal Engineer, you’ll operate as a highly experienced individual contributor, taking ownership of complex technical problems, influencing architecture, defining engineering standards, and collaborating closely with Engineering, Security, Product, and other technical stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, and evolve low-level software components running on macOS.
- Develop security-sensitive functionality related to authentication, identity, and endpoint protection.
- Work with native macOS frameworks and system technologies.
- Build and maintain privileged services and background processes.
- Design secure communication between application-level and privileged system components.
- Work with technologies such as XPC, Launch Agents, Launch Daemons, Keychain, and Authorization Services .
- Contribute to macOS System Extensions and endpoint security capabilities.
- Develop and maintain software using Swift, Objective-C, C, and C++ , depending on the component and technical requirements.
- Build authentication and credential-management capabilities.
- Work with technologies and protocols such as FIDO2, WebAuthn, passkeys, PAM, and CryptoTokenKit .
- Apply secure coding practices and cryptographic principles when implementing authentication and identity workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, diagnostic tooling, debugging, and system-level analysis.
- Investigate difficult operating system issues where documentation or established solutions may be limited.
- Ensure reliability and compatibility across different macOS versions and enterprise environments.
- Contribute to software packaging, installation, upgrades, permissions, code signing, and entitlements.
- Collaborate with backend and platform teams on secure communication using APIs and networking protocols.
- Participate in architectural discussions and long-term technical decisions.
