About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Associate to join our growing offshore team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing financial records, processing transactions, and supporting accounting functions to ensure smooth financial operations. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Reconcile key accounts, including bank statements, and ensure accuracy in financial records Support month-end and year-end closing procedures Maintain documentation and records for auditing and compliance purposes Work closely with the team to optimize accounting processes Assist in managing day-to-day client communications, responding to questions and information requests Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Comfortable learning and navigating new systems and tools Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and other key stakeholders Certifications Strong preference would be a degree in Accounting, with Finance or related fields being secondary. If they have a degree in a related field, an accounting certification would be a plus Must Haves Full professional proficiency, both spoken and written. We work very closely with our offshore associates so it’s imperative to minimize communication issues 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably with a US based company. This associate will be working on bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, etc. so they should have experience preparing those types of reconciliations in a previous role Experience with Quickbooks Online (it’s not 100% must-have but is a very large bonus) Nice to Haves Work experience at one of the big four US accounting firms (KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, Ernst & Young) Ability to create or improve processes. We’re a fast paced start up and don’t always have lengthy process documentation available.
