About the job Tether and its affiliated entities (e.g., Bitfinex) are searching for an organized self‑starter to join our Regulatory and Licensing team. The successful candidate is someone with a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to the crypto‑asset industry in Argentina, and who is excited by the opportunity to apply their existing regulatory experience in an exciting and dynamic business environment. The candidate will report directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Licensing – Latin America, serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory and licensing matters within Argentina. This is a senior position designed for professionals with proven experience engaging with or working within financial regulators, supervisory authorities, or policy‑making bodies. The ideal candidate combines strategic insight with hands‑on execution, demonstrates a diplomatic, solutions‑oriented approach in navigating complex regulatory environments, and is able to anticipate regulatory changes and adapt strategies proactively to evolving market and legal environments. To succeed in this role, the incumbent will continuously strive to self‑develop and enhance their skill sets including understanding the Company’s products and services, blockchain technology, crypto‑assets and the regulatory requirements. They will engage with industry associations, chambers, and other stakeholder groups to promote innovation and collaboration. Key focus areas: translating regulatory requirements in Argentina into clear and actionable strategic recommendations, managing relationships and communications between various stakeholders both internal and external to the business. Responsibilities Develop and execute regulatory strategies, identifying preferential markets from which to operate and ensuring local implementation aligns with Tether’s broader Latin American regulatory objectives. Advocate and collaborate with regulatory agencies, engaging with relevant regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and policymakers to shape the regulatory landscape for stablecoin issuers, and contribute to public consultations, working groups, and industry forums. Analyze local regulatory proposals, advise the business on potential regulatory risks and opportunities, and drive initiatives to influence regulatory frameworks while monitoring changes across regulations to ensure proactive compliance. Support the process of obtaining necessary license approvals in identified markets, coordinating documentation and responses to regulatory inquiries. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., expansion, legal, compliance, finance) to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and proactively address emerging regulatory challenges. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years regulatory experience within the financial services or crypto‑asset industry. Preferred: 5–8 years regulatory experience within financial services, fintech, or crypto‑asset industries. Ability to apply knowledge of key regulatory frameworks in Argentina both strategically and operationally and provide direction to resolve complex regulatory issues. Demonstrated diplomatic skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships. Expertise in preparing regulatory analysis and executing interactions with regulatory authorities, such as regulatory consultation response submissions. Proven experience working with or within regulatory authorities (e.g., central banks, financial supervisory agencies, ministries of finance) is strongly preferred. Ability to draft or contribute to public policy responses, regulatory filings, or industry position papers. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in public speaking and representing companies in regulatory discussions. Strong team player, able to work collaboratively and independently with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English and native proficiency in the local language of Argentina. University degree required; advanced degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
