This role offers a stable, long-term career where organizational skills directly impact the success of a California law firm. Your Startup Operations is a boutique agency connecting LATAM talent with US small businesses and is currently hiring for a California-based Employment Defense Law Firm. This is not a data-entry role. You will work directly with the Lead Litigator, managing all key aspects of the firm—from the docket to the courtroom. Experience with Clio and a love for the fast pace of litigation are required. About The Client You will support a small, high-performing legal defense practice in California representing businesses in workplace litigation. Due to the small team, your role is critical to the daily operations of the firm. Deadlines are tight, filings are frequent, and attention to detail is highly valued. What You Will Do (Responsibilities) Master the Docket: calendar and track all litigation deadlines to ensure zero missed dates. Case Management: create, organize, and manage case files within Clio. Drafting & Discovery: prepare initial drafts of pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses. Review and summarize deposition transcripts. Court Filing: handle e-filing and e-service of pleadings and discovery in California State Courts. Coordination: schedule court hearings, depositions, and mediations, managing a complex calendar. What You Bring (Requirements) US Legal Experience: experience working in US Law, preferably Employment Law. Tech Stack: proficiency in Clio, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Pro. California Procedure: familiarity with California state court websites, reservation systems, and civil litigation deadlines. Communication: fluent English (C1/C2) with impeccable grammar, proofreading, and punctuation. Proactivity: ability to anticipate the attorney’s needs without waiting for instructions.
