Accounting Manager

Overview Hi there We are South and our client is looking for a Accounting Manager We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Manager to join a growing offshore accounting team. The ideal candidate will oversee the full accounting cycle, manage month-end close and reconciliations, ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and lead day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and revenue recognition. This role also involves reviewing team output, maintaining consistent accounting policies, and contributing financial insights to support business decision-making. Responsibilities Lead and oversee end-to-end accounting operations across multiple entities or business units. Manage and review monthly close processes, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations (prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue, etc.). Oversee core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and revenue recognition. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal management reports. Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership. Maintain and document consistent accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to support scalability and efficiency. Manage day-to-day workflow of the accounting team, reviewing work and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes, systems, and overall accounting operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent designation preferred; MBA is a plus). 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a public accounting or accounting firm environment. 5+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role. Fluency in English (written and verbal) required. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting concepts. Proven experience leading month-end close and producing accurate financial statements. Hands-on experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders. Experience in inventory and cost accounting. Nice to Haves Background at a Big Four U.S. accounting firm (KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, or EY). Experience creating, improving, or scaling accounting processes in fast-paced environments with limited documentation.
