Position Summary The Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships - Central America is a key member of the team responsible for identifying, developing, and managing high-value partnerships that drive business growth, innovation, and access to new funding sources for the assigned portfolio. This role also supports the achievement of annual sales and revenue targets. This position requires outstanding communication, negotiation, and strategic-thinking skills, as well as a strong understanding of the regional context across the private sector, government, and development cooperation. The Senior Manager will work closely with leadership, innovation, and program teams to ensure alignment of objectives and effective execution of joint initiatives. Responsibilities also include monitoring partnership performance, proposing improvements, and resolving challenges to maximize results. The Senior Manager has the opportunity to drive the organization's expansion by opening access to new markets, resources, and strategic arenas. Responsibilities Strategy, Growth & Partnership Expansion (60%) Sales Strategy, Business Development & Market Expansion: Drive Corus' portfolio growth in the sub-region in LAC by identifying and securing new funding opportunities, strategic alliances, commercial agreements, and investment prospects that increase revenue and diversify the funding base in the assigned subregion. Prioritize non-traditional donors, private-sector actors, and regional multilateral development banks. Achieve measurable business growth and open new markets for Corus and its entities. Strategic Planning: Support the execution of strategic business plans aligned with Corus International's commercial strategy. Establish clear revenue targets, track progress, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent delivery of growth results. Partner Due Diligence & Risk Management: Lead due diligence processes for pre-identified partners in the sub-region, assess risks, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure strong, compliant, and value-generating partnerships. Networking & Representation: Represent Corus International in high-level forums, business platforms, conferences, and strategic networks to strengthen institutional visibility, identify emerging opportunities, and position Corus as a trusted development and business partner in the region. Actively identify and secure opportunities for senior leadership (SMT) to participate in influential regional and global spaces, amplifying Corus' strategic presence and thought leadership. Collaboration with BD (HQ) on Opportunity Management: Work closely with the Headquarters BD team to ensure alignment around the partnership pipeline, strategic accounts, and opportunity positioning. Actively maintain up-to-date partner, lead, and opportunity information in Corus' designated systems to ensure accurate, timely, and coordinated business intelligence across teams. Proposal Support (as needed): Contribute to the development of proposals, concept notes, and presentations when required, coordinating with BD, technical, finance, and program teams to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities. Negotiation, Partnership Structuring & Business Enablement (25%) Strategic & Technical Guidance: Provide guidance on partnership structuring, agreement negotiation, project initiation, and investment processes, informed by market intelligence, competitive analysis, and Corus standards. Coordinate Due Diligence & Agreement Processes: Coordinate due diligence and negotiation workflows through the signing of agreements, MOUs, contracts, and/or investment arrangements, ensuring adherence to Corus and partner policies and procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage closely with regional leadership, BD (HQ), program, and innovation teams to maintain alignment on partnership approaches and promote scalable, high-value solutions. Promote a Culture of Innovation & Learning: Foster adaptive thinking, experimentation, and the exchange of best practices across teams to strengthen partnership development and accelerate business growth. Operational Support & Coordination (15%) Reporting & Documentation: Prepare timely and results-oriented reports on partnership activities, progress, risks, and achievements for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all pipeline and partnership data is accurately and consistently updated in Corus' internal systems in coordination with BD (HQ). Cross-Team Coordination: Work under the supervision of the Central America Director and in close coordination with key HQ departments to ensure consistency, alignment, and synergy across regional initiatives and organizational business development efforts. Adaptive Management & Business Model Innovation: Apply an adaptive management approach to proactively respond to market shifts, donor trends, and emerging opportunities. Develop evidence-based business development strategies, propose innovative and high-potential business models, and mobilize co-creation and investment initiatives aimed at achieving long-term impact and revenue growth. Education and Experience Professional in business administration, economics, sustainable development, international cooperation, international relations, or related areas. Education in sales will be considered an asset with at least 7 years of experience in sales, partnership development, social investment, and/or ESG and CSR initiatives, with a strong emphasis on private-sector engagement. Prior experience in sales and business growth, private-sector engagement, multilateral institutions, and partnership management, along with a proactive, results-oriented approach and the ability to deliver on annual revenue targets. Experience contributing to at least three co-creation processes with government donors or multilateral development banks. Proven experience in Latin America engaging private-sector actors, public institutions, and international cooperation agencies, including the design, negotiation, and management of strategic alliances. Demonstrated track record of rapidly building and expanding partnerships or business development portfolios, achieving results such as 20-30% annual portfolio growth or securing at least three major partnerships per year. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of non-traditional financing mechanisms, including blended finance, results-based financing (e.g., payment-by-results), impact bonds, catalytic capital, guarantees, and other innovative finance structures. Demonstrated ability to build or manage a new annual business or partnership portfolio of USD 8 million or more. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners-primarily private-sector actors, local philanthropies, and regional multilateral institutions-while identifying collaboration and funding opportunities that create mutual value. Fluent in Spanish and highly proficient in English, with the ability to operate effectively in multicultural, multi-stakeholder environments. Minimum C1 English proficiency (written and spoken) or equivalent. Excellent writing and communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to develop high-quality briefs, pitch decks, proposals, and strategic documents; adapt messaging to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences; and contribute to securing competitive proposals and partnerships. Proficiency in project management and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Loop, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and SharePoint. Ability to leverage an established network of private-sector contacts in sustainability, ESG, innovation, or social impact, with direct engagement experience with at least 15-20 private-sector partners over the last five years. Working Conditions, Travel and Environment This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic and international business purposes, estimated at up to 30% of the time. While performing the duties of this job in different locations, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high security risks and/or very basic living conditions and extreme weather conditions, as well as to infectious diseases. Flexibility and ability to travel on short notice. The duties of the job require regular work at least 5 days/week in alignment with Corus' in person and remote working policy.
