Job Description Reporting to the Head of Risk for South Cone, this role will oversee Strategic Risk Management and Ecosystem Risk (Fraud & Data Security) for the South Cone region. The role involves collaboration with the in‑market Leadership Team and hub/global functions including Global Product & Solutions, Government Affairs, Client Services, and Merchant Solutions & Acquiring. Key responsibilities include: Develop and execute a comprehensive risk plan that aligns with local market landscape, priorities, and global risk strategy. Serve as a trusted and strategic advisor to the Country Manager and the market executive team on all risk issues. Execute internal and external risk management programs and lead client forums (security summit, Risk Executive Councils, working groups, etc.). Promote and support client adoption of Visa risk products, solutions, and initiatives. Contribute to achieving a correct balance between authorization and fraud rate. Manage relationships with issuers, acquirers, merchants, payment processors, service providers, and regulators to: Identify opportunities to enhance the payment ecosystem and advance risk management best practice. Develop constructive relationships with local market regulators. Resolve fraud & data breach events and provide stakeholder training. Lead the responsible innovation initiative with Visa clients to mitigate risks and embrace new technology improvements: Assess emerging/innovation risks and new business models. Conduct risk assessment for new players and initiatives at the regional level. Leverage local insights to contribute to risk thought leadership. Guide clients through payment innovation complexity. Prepare reports, briefings, and other written products to update executive management on risk activities, issues, and opportunities, including: Convey risk‑related trends and developments to local country manager and leadership team through regular reporting. Synthesize marketplace feedback regarding the effectiveness of Visa risk management strategy and programs. Guide Visa’s proactive risk communications and collaboration across stakeholders to advance the safety, security, and long‑term growth of the Visa payment system. Qualifications Global and deep knowledge of the payments industry and major trends affecting stakeholders, including regulatory, market environment, competitive landscape, technology, and data breach threats. 5 years of experience in leadership across technology products/solutions or a financial institution, with a strong customer focus on Visa services. Solid general management background with a proven track record in strategic thinking, risk management, relationship building, and project leadership. Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, management information systems, or related fields. Track record of successfully identifying and mitigating enterprise and operational risk for a complex, global company in a regulated industry. Experience protecting consumer and corporate data through rigorous compliance and rules management processes. Strong understanding of Visa's product ecosystem and broader trends in payments, commerce, AI‑driven solutions, and automation. Experience with AI and machine learning applications in product development, customer experience, and operational efficiency is highly desirable. Excellent cross‑functional collaboration, communication, and influence skills in a matrix environment. Intellectually curious, data‑driven, and results‑focused, with a demonstrated track record of mining data and intelligence for game‑changing insights.
