We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a team delivering services for a leading telecommunications company . This role is ideal for professionals seeking to take on technical leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on in backend development. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot , while guiding the team on architecture decisions, best practices, and code quality standards. Key Responsibilities Design and develop microservices-based solutions using Java 21 and Spring Boot . Build and maintain mock services to support development and testing activities. Implement unit and functional tests to ensure high-quality and reliable software. Act as the backend technical reference for the team, providing guidance on architecture and development standards. Define and promote microservices architecture guidelines and best practices. Review and approve pull requests (PRs) , ensuring code quality and consistency. Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders, demonstrating strong customer-facing skills . Lead and mentor development team members, fostering technical growth and collaboration. Work within Agile methodologies , actively participating in ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience developing microservices with Java (11+) , ideally Java 21 , and Spring Boot . Solid knowledge of event-driven and messaging architectures (Kafka or similar). Experience with Oracle databases . Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins . Experience deploying applications in containerized environments using OpenShift . Proven ability to lead development teams and act as a technical mentor. Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients. Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban). Nice to Have Experience in the telecommunications industry . Exposure to large-scale, high-availability systems. Department / Project Description The team provides end-to-end backend development services for a telecommunications company , building and maintaining a modern microservices ecosystem. The project focuses on scalability, reliability, and performance , supporting critical business processes and customer-facing platforms.
