SOLA Compliance Officer - Medtronic Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina Reporting To: Director, Compliance Officer – Medtronic Americas Region Overview The SOLA Compliance Officer will lead the SOLA Ethics and Compliance Team and oversee compliance program and relevant initiatives across the region. Responsibilities Meaningfully contributing timely, strategic and practical compliance consultations to local Leadership team. Ensuring Medtronic’s Business Conduct Standards and other Compliance Programs and Policies are understood, processes are in place to comply with the requirements, and employees are appropriately trained. Developing and advancing compliance controls and procedures to reflect local laws/regulations and applicable industry codes across SOLA. Ensuring adequate record maintenance and processes are in place to document compliance efforts. Participating in the annual risk assessment process and aligning regional work plans with compliance risks. Collaborating with regional and other key stakeholder functions to integrate compliance considerations into business processes. Fostering a culture of ethical behavior and integrity throughout the organization, including channels for business conduct. Assisting audit/monitoring review, establishing remedial action plans and corrective measures, and supervising execution and implementation. Mastering effectiveness of local compliance program, leading standardization and optimization of local workflows to align with company goals and objectives. Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CA), Law, or MBA from an accredited institution. 10+ years of compliance experience, with 7+ years of managerial experience. Previous compliance oversight of complex systems; experience in the healthcare industry, particularly medical devices. Strong understanding of SOLA culture, bilingual in English and Spanish with strong communication skills. Proven success identifying, assessing, and prioritizing compliance-related risks through risk assessment, policies & procedures, training, monitoring, and remediation. Ability to manage and execute multiple complex projects, including systems responsibilities, across stakeholder groups. Ability to work effectively in multi-divisional, multi-location, multinational organizations. Strong teamwork skills and relationship building with business functions and geographies. Ability to perform under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude. Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills, including senior leaders/executive audiences. Ability to identify high-risk situations and provide guidance, making courageous and unpopular decisions. Ability to influence at all levels – employees, management, executive leaders – to implement compliance initiatives. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience.
