Function Responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. Giving opportunities are developed and executed with the VP for operations (COO) in alignment with SAR’s development goals and strategy, and in support of SAR’s long-term strategic goals. Position is full-time, exempt. This role is primarily based on-site, with significant in-person engagement and relationship-building activities with donors off campus. Characteristic Duties In collaboration with the COO, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals. Work closely with the Board of Directors, president, COO, and executive VP for finance and administration to develop fundraising strategies and goals In collaboration with the COO, develop strategies for major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors,for annual fund and campaign/project support Maintain an active portfolio of major giving and planned giving prospects and work to exceed annual visit, solicitation, and realized gift goalsdefined by COO Provide oversight for all aspects of donor relations and stewardship of the active portfolio, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donor prospects Manage records in the Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring accurate and consistent data entry with support from the advancement associate; including building, generating, updating and running reports and lists for divisions, committee, mailings, special groups, and solicitations Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. Produce reports on prospects based on a combination of data for president, COO, and Board of Directors as required Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization Develop and manage donor lunches, tours, events, and meetings related to fundraising with support from guest services and the COO Design and develop donor acknowledgement and recognition programs and services for donors and members Manage and lead a team of fundraising professionals, including but not limited to the membership coordinator and advancement associate, providing guidance, training, and support as needed Participate in the life of SAR and the City of Santa Fe by being fully visible, dynamic, and involved Supervision This position reports directly to the COO. Required Qualifications Seven to ten years’ proven fundraising experience, CFRE (preferred), master’s degree (preferred), experience with database from data entry to queries for reports (Raiser’s Edge preferred), active member of the Santa Fe arts and culture community, willing to work nights and weekends as necessary. Must have proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong organizational, fundraising, budgeting and strategic planning abilities. A detail-oriented approach with excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to speak in public. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Salary is $90,000 to $105,000 annually (DOE). Benefits include 403(b) retirement plan and option to participate in group health, dental, and life insurance plans at a shared cost with SAR; paid holidays; and generous vacation and paid sick leave benefits.
