About The Role Join Félix as a Staff Software Engineer on our dedicated Fraud team, where you'll play a pivotal role in building and enhancing defenses against financial crime. This position requires deep technical expertise and a keen understanding of fraud typologies. You will architect and implement advanced, data-driven systems that proactively identify and mitigate risks across our platform. Your leadership will shape our technical roadmap, foster innovation, and ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Responsibilities Lead Risk Platform Development: Drive technology and platform development for the company’s risk needs, ensuring a functionally rich, reliable, and high-performance solution. Own Architecture & Strategy: Take full ownership of the Risk platform’s technology and architecture, collaborating with Engineering teams and stakeholders. Innovate & Elevate Solutions: Continuously challenge the status quo and deliver superior technical solutions addressing risk requirements. Strategic Partnership: Work with leaders in Risk Product and Risk & Compliance to gain business understanding and develop effective technical solutions. Provide guidance on engineering principles and best practices, ensuring productivity and quality. Operational Excellence: Ensure reliable production execution of the Risk Platform with robust observability and clear visibility to partners. Leverage Data & AI: Collaborate with Data, AI, and Risk teams to leverage Data and AI platforms for risk needs. Seamless Integration: Ensure the Risk Platform is integrated across products and systems with high performance. Shape Technical Vision: Drive the technical vision and strategy for Risk in partnership with Engineering teams. Foster Technical Excellence & Culture: Set high technical standards, mentor teams, and cultivate an inclusive, productive Risk group. Strengthen Security & Reliability: Partner with security and SRE to improve security, meet SLOs, and manage error budgets. Requirements 3+ years in Fraud Prevention: Direct, hands-on experience in fraud prevention, detection, or mitigation within fintech or financial services. 10+ years in Software Development: Senior-level engineer with a track record of building software at scale. Risk Platform Architect: Experience in risk domain architecture and development, with knowledge of Data, ML, and AI applications to risk. System Design & Scale: Designing distributed systems with high throughput and scalability (millions of transactions/day). Sharp Tech Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with ML frameworks, real-time databases, and fraud tools (e.g., FICO Falcon, SAS). Knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of PCI DSS and SOX requirements. Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to mentor, set technical standards, and lead architectural decisions; strong cross-functional collaboration. Self-Driven & Accountable: Proactive, comfortable in ambiguity, and able to navigate dynamic environments. Flexible & Responsive: Able to adapt to changing priorities and occasional after-hours support for critical fraud risks. Current Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of fraud detection tools, ML models, and best practices in fraud analytics. Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s or PhD a plus. Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate level or higher.
