About the Founder and Executive Director: With a background in machine learning, computational linguistics, entrepreneurship, and project management—and a PhD in progress in Transpersonal Psychology—the founder (Joshua Mathias) leads a multidisciplinary vision grounded in both rigorous science and spiritual openness. About the Role: As our Lead Mobile Developer, you will guide the design and development of beautiful, high-performance mobile experiences that connect users with transformative content. You’ll help shape the core mobile expression of Spiritual Data’s mission — intuitive, engaging, and rooted in purpose Application Engineering mission statement: Enable intellectual autonomy and scientific collaboration across the world through building accessible product experiences. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end development of React Native applications for iOS and Android. Architect and optimize cross-platform code for performance, reliability, and user delight. Work closely with designers and researchers to translate visionary ideas into interactive mobile experiences. Manage app testing, builds, and deployment workflows (Xcode, TestFlight, Play Console). Ideal Candidate: 2+ years of professional React Native experience with strong fundamentals in mobile UI/UX. Familiarity with both iOS and Android development environments and build processes. Strong debugging and performance optimization skills. Curiosity about spiritual, philosophical, or research-driven content and storytelling. Compensation: Part-time, flexible schedule Monthly stipend of around $50 based on responsibilities and reporting (we are yet to receive external funding and most team members are volunteers) Option for additional pay through milestone-based compensation Potential for future compensation based on quarterly performance reviews A payment card for personal AI tool use To apply: Apply through WellFound with a custom message about your interest in our cause/mission.
