Job Description: The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for providing HVAC preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs for the established site at a government military facility as well as on‑demand service using accepted industry standard methods and following the manufacturers’ and/or Federal Government guidelines on facility HVAC equipment. The Mechanic will respond to client requests assigned in a safe, efficient, clean, and professional manner. Responsibilities Record daily activities and job records on service tickets and work logs. Maintain accurate inventory, security, and stocking levels of HVAC service tools and consumable supplies. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment including but not limited to heat pumps, split systems, roof‑top units, air handling units, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, VAV systems, etc. Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC equipment failures, including schematic controls wiring diagrams; replace or adjust defective or worn parts to repair systems. Maintain chemical water treatment program at the direction of the Chief Engineer. Operate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, and emergency Generator systems. Operate and repair Energy Management Systems. Perform work safely and report any observed safety and security problems to the Chief Engineer. Lifting and moving materials, supplies and equipment with a minimum 75 lb capacity. Other reasonable assignments related to building operations and maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer. Job Requirements Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working on HVAC systems and associated equipment. NATE certification. Universal CFC Certification. High school diploma or equivalent. HVAC License. HVAC Excellence or UA Star Certification (preferred). Effective communication in English, both speaking and writing. Advanced HVAC training and manufacturer training. Extensive technical knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repairs. Ability to diagnose refrigeration systems, air distribution systems, and equipment controls. Ability to work Monday‑Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed for emergencies. Must be able to respond to after‑hours emergency calls. Good physical condition with the ability to lift 75 lb and possessing good fine‑motor coordination, able to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and confined spaces. U.S. Citizen or approved registered alien. Ability to pass drug screening and Federal Government criminal background check.
