Wholesale Credit Risk Analyst J.P. Morgan's Wholesale Banking business (Corporate & Investment Bank and Commercial Bank) is a global leader across banking, markets and investor services. The Wholesale Credit Risk team assesses, permissions, and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic, and transaction basis. Responsibilities Conduct credit analysis and help a deal team seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team. Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers. Develop a well-informed and forward‑looking view of the business, financial and competitive risks associated with a company and sector. Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, on an ongoing basis. Take ownership of client credit needs and projects and independently develop a credit opinion. Provide credit expertise in structuring new loan and derivative transactions. Participate in negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives. Remain current on all aspects of the credit relationship, including exposure, compliance, potential problems and opportunities. Provide a cohesive and comprehensive approach to review ratings, risk assessment, portfolios, clients and industries in their sector. Present quarterly and annual risk reviews and tiering analyses. Review and assign risk ratings and maintain updated credit research on the portfolio of clients. Work with Investment Banking Coverage, Commercial Banking Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for clients; maintain threshold and industry limits. Participate in credit due diligence process for clients, including for capital markets transactions. Help drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements. Qualifications Expertise in one or more of the industries we support: Consumer, Retail and Healthcare; Technology, Media and Telecommunications; Diversified Industries, Automotive and Transportation, Aerospace and Defense, Airlines, Natural Resources; and Power. Consumer, Retail, or Healthcare experience is particularly valuable. Excellent accounting and corporate finance expertise. BA/BAA degree required. Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance capital markets products, and macro economics. Some credit/underwriting credentials, analytical skills, and experience is a plus. Strong analytical and financial modeling ability. Interest in client interaction. Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter‑personal skills. Exceptional work ethic, highly motivated, with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality. Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure in a demanding environment. Capable of understanding, describing, and debating complex concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
