Role: Software Engineer As a Software Engineer at Proofpoint, you will develop distributed systems and REST API servers in a Kubernetes environment, contributing to high‑scale, data‑intensive applications. Must Have Qualifications Distributed systems development with Java in the Kubernetes context. Ability to develop REST API Java servers with ease. Standards mindset. Experience developing Kafka‑related applications handling data at high scale and large volumes. AWS expert, ready to take on Azure and GCP. Experience with Terraform/Crossplane and can handle continuous development processes/tools. Nice to Have Familiarity with Java microprofile services such as Quarkus and Helidon. Java 17+. OpenAPI/Swagger familiarity. WebSockets/SSE know‑how. Experience coding with search technologies such as Elasticsearch and Opensearch. Understand SRIs/SROs/SLAs and what coding is needed to support end‑to‑end observability metrics/logging application needs.
