The Lifecycle team aims to elevate HR practices, integrate technology solutions, and enrich customer experiences in 80+ countries. The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, quality, and customer service. The specialist also provides first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating resources. As part of the Lifecycle team, you’ll drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals and values. Key Responsibilities Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits with minimal supervision across multiple international jurisdictions, prioritizing a superior offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees. Provide guidance with knowledge on key jurisdictions and manage client requests on HR matters, including termination, resignation, transfers, contracts, and redundancies, ensuring legal compliance and best practices. Independently lead meetings with clients and external employees (e.g., workforce reduction consultations, hearings, negotiations, terminations, settlements) and deliver termination outcomes. Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, coordinating multiple stakeholders with competing interests. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits (payroll, legal, government bodies, unions). Draft and administer termination documents, maintaining employee records with privacy and confidentiality. Process offboarding on Remote's HRIS, collaborating with teams (Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, T&A) to ensure complete and timely exits. Act as a first point of escalation, mentoring junior team members and providing expertise on offboarding and first-level employee relations. Provide comprehensive guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources and help clients navigate workplace scenarios. Assess workplace concerns, identify facts and applicable regulations, and determine potential paths forward. Serve as a trusted resource for stakeholders on employee relations matters, ensuring appropriate handling of complex cases. Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation, and best practices for difficult situations. Track and monitor ongoing cases, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination with stakeholders. Resolve internal and external queries on offboarding and first-level employee relations, in collaboration with Lifecycle stakeholders. Identify opportunities to drive process improvements, automation, and product development to improve customer and employee experience. Determine methods and standards on new assignments, applying problem-solving skills to obtain results across Lifecycle and Remote needs. What you bring Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle. Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are a plus. Experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; providing HR guidance on employment laws across jurisdictions. Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals. Ability to interpret and apply instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and translate research into usable resources; communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous environments. Superior communication, influencing, conflict management and negotiation skills; capable of leading difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Business-level English proficiency (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus. Aptitude to innovate and optimize processes; identifying opportunities for automation and best practices. Efficiency in operations with attention to record-keeping and data integrity. Tech-savvy with ability to collaborate asynchronously and adapt to new systems. Ability to work autonomously in an international, fast-paced, remote environment with multiple priorities; willing to work flexible hours as needed. Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, able to inspire others. We pay above in-location rates and encourage global talent-hiring while supporting local wealth in developing countries. Salary ranges are geo-based and may vary by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $41,900 to $94,300 USD, subject to location, skills, experience, and market demands. Internal moves may be reviewed case by case.
