Trenching Operator Short description : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trenching Operator to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry , specializing in onshore and offshore trenching operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating trenching equipment to excavate trenches for pipelines, cables, and other subsea or land-based infrastructure. This role requires expertise in handling trenching machinery in challenging environments, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Function description Key Responsibilities Operate, control, and maintain trenching equipment for onshore and offshore applications. Perform excavation and trenching for pipeline, cable laying, and other subsea and terrestrial installations. Ensure safe and efficient operations while working in high-risk environments, adhering to HSE regulations. Conduct pre‑operational checks, routine inspections, and maintenance on trenching machinery. Monitor trenching depth, alignment, and speed to maintain accuracy and avoid environmental hazards. Coordinate with offshore vessel crews and onshore project teams to ensure smooth operations. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs. Interpret trenching plans, route maps, and technical specifications. Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance logs, and equipment performance. Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and environmental compliance measures. Requirements EU Nationals Offshore trenching experience Heavy equipment operating skills BOSIET with CA-EBS Full GWO (5 modules) Valid Seaman's Book Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems related to trenching equipment. Experience with subsea trenching and cable‑laying operations is a plus. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and trenching specifications. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure in harsh environments. Familiarity with offshore vessel operations, including DP (Dynamic Positioning) systems.
