Role Summary The NPI Factory Quality Manager is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all new products are launched with the expected standards of quality, reliability, and manufacturability. This individual will serve as the primary quality interface between engineering and manufacturing during the NPI process and be responsible for developing and executing robust quality strategies, managing risks, and ensuring a seamless transition from product development to mass production. This individual will manage quality engineers to ensure that key activities are well executed for each NPI project and provide daily coaching to the quality engineer team to drive continual improvements during the NPI phase with a data‑driven approach. Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM (Quality Program Manager). Ensure the factory NPI production line is under quality control, firewall/line stop control. Review and approve process qualification. Lead inside factory NPI production/process driving actions on all build issues (Manufacturing/Design). Coordinate and consolidate build performance report within factory NPI team, and align quality statement to QPM & Program Manager. Owner of the Safe Launch Control Plan/CTQ/Process Control Plan and drive flawless launch results. This individual will adhere to global NPI quality strategy KPIs and Goals, create goal plans, and keep regular KPI review within factory NPI team to meet the NPI quality KPIs. This individual will also be the key factory quality contact window during customer NPI audit or visit to ensure customer expectations are well communicated and followed at the factory site. Core Responsibilities Define NPI factory site quality KPIs versus Global NPI quality KPIs, create execution plan and keep regular KPI updates (weekly & monthly). Coach and manage multiple quality engineers to ensure quality support on each of NPI projects following the NPI development requirement and procedure. Ensure customer requirements are well received in factory and deployed to factory. Ensure DFx earlier feedback to design site to minimize risk during NPI builds and escaping to mass production. Ensure process qualification on key processes of each project. Ensure fundamental NPI quality control is executed in NPI production lines (e.g., shop floor control system, traceability system, SPC on critical process, line stop mechanism, CAPA action drive mechanism, CTQ deployment, product/process control plan execution, OQA/In‑line QA/IPQA controls). Review and approve each NPI build performance report and provide factory quality statement matching with QPM. Host customer visit or audit in the NPI production lines. Education Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution. Advanced degree in Engineering / Science – desired. MBA – desired. Experience Minimum ten years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is a must. Minimum five years of Quality Manager background. Position Specific Requirements Required: Aggressive and straightforward in driving problem solving and quality improvements. Willing to take on challenge tasks and leadership roles. Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability. Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and NPI program management. Competent in problem‑solving tools such as 8‑D methodology: Is‑Is Not Fishbone diagram Brainstorming 3‑X‑5 Why Competent in quality tools and process/production control methods such as: Control Plans FMEA MSA SPC Product life cycle and Reliability Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements. Preferred: Knowledge of customer‑specific requirements. Knowledge of manufacturing on highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions for several applications and processes. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
