What role you will play in our team Serve as Subject Matter Expert for trade compliance focusing on import/export and international trade compliance in Latin America. Maintain accurate documentation, coordinate with internal/external departments and assist in audits.  Classify complex items (assemblies, kits, refurbished goods, spare parts) considering essential character, materials, and function. Maintain classification decision trees and rationales with references (chapter notes, explanatory notes, rulings). #LI-Onsite What will you do Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations across Latin American countries. Provide daily support to all value chains regarding compliance processes. Monitor and interpret changes in customs laws, free trade agreements, and regulatory requirements. Support internal audits and risk assessments related to trade compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues. Maintain accurate documentation for import/export activities. Provide training and guidance on trade compliance policies. Manage relationships internally and externally including oversight of third-party freight forwarders monitoring their performance and KPIs. Provide trade compliance expertise in support of ExxonMobil growth initiatives and projects Contribute to the development of regional compliance strategies. Controls, Audit & Risk Management: Conduct periodic internal audits; remediate discrepancies; prepare for government or 3rd party audits.Monitor regulatory updates (tariff changes, duty rate updates, sanctions impact) and cascade changes into master data. Product Classification: Assign HS/HTS/HTSUS, Schedule B, ECCN, and other local tariff codes using WCO General Rules of Interpretation, legal notes, and binding rulings. About You Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3–5+ years of hands-on customs classification experience (import/export), preferably in Oil & Gas. Strong working knowledge of HS/HTSUS, WCO GRIs, section/chapter notes, explanatory notes; familiarity with Schedule B and ECCN (EAR). Experience collaborating with customs brokers and using trade compliance software.
