Engineering Tech Lead / Tech Manager – Deel Deel is the all‑in‑one payroll and HR platform that empowers global teams. Responsibilities Oversee all projects, determining technical requirements and communicating them to the team. Identify risks and develop contingency plans as soon as possible. Collaborate closely with design and product teams to create extraordinary product experiences. Align the team’s work with product goals and delivery timelines together with the Team Lead and Product Manager. Demonstrate excellence in product‑led software development. Develop the software architecture required to implement the team’s features, meeting OKRs. Provide pair programming, code review, and software development mentorship. Qualifications Passion for technology and building cutting‑edge, scalable, robust software systems. Drive to deliver user experiences that are truly amazing. Experience designing and architecting software for high‑performance, distributed systems. Skilled in rapid prototyping, iterative development, and continuous innovation. What you’ll bring Based between GMT–GMT+3. High‑output contributor with strong leadership and organizational abilities. Outstandingly accountable and trustworthy; able to build lasting relationships with teams. Excellent communication in written and spoken English. 8+ years of experience with Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, React, and TypeScript. Hands‑on messaging systems like NATS and RabbitMQ. Integrated third‑party APIs (e.g., payment gateways, CRMs, banking APIs). 2+ years of Tech Lead / Systems Architect experience in fintech, trading, or banking. Deep understanding of database performance principles. Comfort with documentation and diagramming (ERDs, state diagrams, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams). Familiarity with Kubernetes (k8s) and CI/CD pipelines. Extra brownie points Experience with SaaS products running 24/7 on a major cloud vendor. Deel is an equal‑opportunity employer.
