Overview Paymaster role at Howard Financial, a full‑service back‑office solution for bookkeeping, payroll, and bespoke reporting. Key Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for multiple hospitality clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Validate timekeeping data: hours worked, overtime, tipped wages, service charges, and shift differentials. Classify employees correctly, including job codes, pay rates, and schedules. Reconcile payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly. Maintain payroll records and support clients during audits or compliance reviews. Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate onboarding, terminations, and payroll changesli> Provide payroll reporting and analysis to management. Assist with process improvements to increase accuracy and client satisfaction. Deliver high‑quality customer service, addressing payroll inquiries promptly and professionally. Ensure consistent weekly work to meet client deadlines, including longer commitments Monday‑Wednesday. Qualifications 5+ years as a Paymaster or Payroll Specialist in the hospitality industry (restaurants, hotels, resorts, F&B groups). In‑depth knowledge of hospitality payroll requirements: tipped employees, service charges, allocated tips, and high‑volume hourly payroll. Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state wage laws, including FLSA and tip compliance. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time‑management skills. Ability to work under tight weekly deadlines, especially Mondays and Tuesdays. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
