Senior Animator

Nimble Giant Entertainment is looking for a full-time Sr Animator. Our Art team is on the hunt for a talented Sr Animator to join our creative force. In this role, you will bring characters to life by refining motion capture data and blending it with keyframe animation to achieve stunning, immersive performances. If you are passionate about animation and thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment, we want to hear from you Responsibilities: Mocap Data Processing: Clean up and refine raw motion capture (mocap) data, addressing issues such as jitter, unnatural movements, or noise. Create smooth, realistic animations from mocap data. Animation Integration: Blend mocap data with traditional keyframe animation to enhance performances. Translate mocap data into specific animation styles, including both realistic and stylized approaches. Character Animation: Work with character rigs and skinning to ensure seamless integration of mocap data. Apply foundational animation principles such as timing, spacing, weight, and appeal to deliver natural motion. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including game designers, technical directors, and other animators, to achieve creative goals. Maintain a strong portfolio showcasing mocap work or relevant animation demos. Requirements: Experience with tools like MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max for refining mocap data. Ability to clean up raw mocap data and fix errors like jitter, unnatural movements, or noise. Proficiency in creating smooth, realistic animations from mocap data. Experience integrating mocap with traditional keyframe animation to refine or enhance performances. Strong understanding of character rigging and skinning to work with mocap data on complex characters. Ability to translate mocap data into specific animation styles, whether realistic or stylized. Familiarity with animation principles (e.g., timing, spacing, weight, and appeal) to ensure natural motion. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team (with game designers, technical directors, and other animators). Good communication skills to discuss mocap adjustments and convey creative ideas. A portfolio showcasing mocap work or relevant animation demos is essential. Any relevant industry experience (game development, film, TV, etc.) is a plus. Desirable Perks: Experience with AAA game development or high-profile animation projects. Familiarity with scripting or automation tools to optimize animation workflows.
