We’re looking for a fast, resourceful Direct Response Video Editor to join our creative team and produce high-volume paid social ads.
We run performance marketing campaigns across platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, and other paid media channels.
This is not a traditional video editing role.
We’re not looking for someone who spends an entire day perfecting one video. We need someone who understands how to create good direct-response ads quickly, test different ideas, and iterate on what’s working.
Speed, quality, and autonomy are the three biggest things we care about.
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll create short-form video ads using a combination of:
• Existing winning ads
• Scripts and hooks
• UGC footage
• B-roll
• AI-generated images and video
• AI voiceovers
• Competitor/reference ads
• Landing pages and offer information You’ll be expected to take the resources available to you and turn them into finished ads without needing every creative decision handed to you. If you need B-roll, find it. If you need a voiceover, generate it. If an AI-generated scene would improve the ad, create it. If you see an opportunity for a stronger hook or a new concept, test it. We want editors who can figure things out and move quickly. High-Volume Creative ProductionWe produce a lot of creative. You should be comfortable producing approximately 50–60 finished ads per week. However, this does NOT mean creating 50–60 completely new concepts from scratch. A typical week will consist of approximately: 10–20 new creative concepts 30–40+ variations and iterations of existing concepts/winners A large portion of our variations involve testing new hook copy and opening executions while keeping the core body/concept of a proven ad relatively similar. For example, if we have an ad that's performing well, you may create multiple versions testing completely different opening hooks against the same core ad. We want to test quickly, identify what works, and then produce more iterations of the winners. Speed Is Extremely ImportantWe want to be very clear about this. This is a fast-paced creative role. We would rather test 10 strong creative variations quickly than spend several days trying to make one ad perfect. That does NOT mean producing sloppy work. It means having an efficient workflow, understanding what actually matters in a performance ad, and being able to produce quality creative at volume. If you typically spend an entire day editing one 30–60 second ad, this probably isn't the right position for you. We Want You to Work IndependentlyWe don’t want editors who constantly need to ask: “What should I work on next?”You’ll have access to our winning creatives and regular feedback about what's currently performing. If you see a winning ad, you should naturally start thinking: “What other hooks or variations can I test against this?”We’ll still provide priorities, assignments, scripts, references, and direction when needed. But over time, we want you to be able to look at what's working and make smart creative decisions on your own. You should also be comfortable sourcing or generating the assets you need. We use tools such as ElevenLabs and AI image/video generation tools, and we encourage our editors to use AI to work faster and create things that wouldn't otherwise be possible. You’ll See How Your Ads Actually PerformOne of the biggest differences with this role is that your ads don't just disappear after you finish editing them. We actually run and track them. We’ll regularly share:
• Winning ads
• Winning hooks
• Winning concepts/angles
• Platform rejection feedback
• Quality feedback
• New creative directions that are working You’ll have access to a library of our winning creatives so you can see what's performing and use that information to decide what deserves to be tested next. If a certain concept starts winning, we want you to iterate on it. If a certain type of creative keeps getting rejected, we want you to adjust. If we give quality feedback, we expect you to apply it to future ads without needing to be reminded repeatedly. The goal is for you to get better at making ads for our campaigns every week. What We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate:
• Has experience editing direct-response/performance ads
• Understands how important the first 1–3 seconds are
• Can develop strong hook variations
• Understands UGC/native-style advertising
• Can produce creative quickly
• Is comfortable working with AI tools
• Can source B-roll and other assets independently
• Can create natural-sounding AI voiceovers
• Can take inspiration from winning ads without simply copying them
• Has good creative instincts
• Is organized and reliable
• Can handle a high volume of creative
• Can work independently without constant supervision
• Takes feedback well and implements it quickly Experience with affiliate marketing, lead generation, e-commerce, finance, insurance, health, or other direct-response verticals is a major plus. Experience with tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, ElevenLabs, and AI image/video generation tools is also a plus. What Success Looks LikeWe don't only care about how many videos you make. We care about whether you're producing creative that's actually worth testing. A great editor on our team: Moves fast. You consistently hit creative volume without needing to be chased. Creates meaningful variations. Changing a caption color or swapping one random B-roll clip doesn't count as a new variation. Comes up with ideas. You don't rely entirely on us to tell you exactly what to make. Learns from winners. When something works, you find new ways to iterate on it. Adapts quickly. If something gets rejected or doesn't meet our quality standards, you adjust and don't continue making the same mistake. Uses AI effectively. You use AI to increase your speed and capabilities without sacrificing quality. CompensationUp to $1,000 USD/month, depending on experience, speed, quality, and performance. This is an ongoing position with consistent work for the right person. We will begin with a paid creative test before selecting editors for the long-term role. There is room to take on more responsibility over time for editors who consistently produce high-quality creative, hit volume expectations, and require minimal oversight.
How to Apply
Please send:
• 3–5 examples of your best direct-response/performance ads. Please don't send a huge portfolio. We want to see your most relevant work.
• A short explanation of your experience creating paid social ads.
• Which editing and AI tools you currently use.
• How quickly could you realistically produce 5 hook variations of an existing 30–60 second ad?
• Are you comfortable consistently producing approximately 50–60 finished creatives per week, assuming only 10–20 are completely new concepts and the remainder are variations/iterations? Start your application with the word “VELOCITY” so we know you read the entire post. We’re hiring immediately and will be inviting selected applicants to complete a paid creative test.
