We are looking for a developer who can use AI and traditional software development to solve real-world business and e-commerce problems. This role will focus on identifying inefficient processes, building better tools, automating repetitive work, improving internal systems, and using AI where it can meaningfully improve operations. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who is comfortable working across backend systems, e-commerce platforms, product data, APIs, and internal business tools. This person will work closely with our experienced lead developer, who has deep knowledge of our existing systems and architecture. The role is intended to complement and expand our current development capabilities, with a particular focus on AI-assisted solutions, automation, and new internal tools. Responsibilities ● Build AI-powered tools and workflows that improve efficiency across the business ● Use AI to assist with coding, automation, data processing, product management, customer service, and internal operations ● Develop and maintain backend applications, APIs, integrations, and internal tools ● Help build or improve a Product Information Management (PIM) system ● Work with large product catalogs containing 100,000+ SKUs ● Improve product imports, vendor feeds, pricing, inventory, categorization, and data quality ● Identify manual or inefficient processes and build technical solutions to improve them ● Collaborate with our lead developer on architecture, integrations, and larger development initiatives ● Evaluate new AI tools and determine where they can effectively support the business and existing development processes Preferred Experience ● Python and Django ● Experience working with ecommerce platforms, web applications, APIs, and system architecture ● SQL and database management ● Experience building AI/LLM-powered tools, integrations, and automations ● PIM, CRM, ERP, or Order Management systems ● Large-scale product catalogs and product data ● Elastic Search and/or other major search platforms Experience in furniture, home furnishings, or another product-heavy retail environment is a plus. We are looking for someone who can understand a business problem, work collaboratively with our existing development team, and build practical solutions using AI, automation, and traditional development.
