Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled
DevOps Engineer
to lead and support our cloud infrastructure initiatives, with a strong focus on AWS. The ideal candidate will have experience managing
Java applications running on Tomcat
, working with
MS SQL databases
, and supporting enterprise application environments. This role will be instrumental in migrating legacy applications to the cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across our systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support Java applications.
  • Manage deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications running on
    Tomcat
    .
  • Oversee and optimize
    MS SQL Server
    environments in the cloud.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid application development and deployment.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure smooth application migration from on-premise to AWS.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for application performance and availability.
  • Apply security best practices across infrastructure, data, and applications.
  • Optimize cost, performance, and reliability of cloud environments.
  • Provide operational support and on-call assistance for critical production systems.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in
    DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or System Administration
    .
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    AWS services
    (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.).
  • Experience deploying and managing
    Java applications on Tomcat
    .
  • Proficiency in managing and tuning
    MS SQL Server
    in cloud environments.
  • Solid knowledge of
    CI/CD tools
    (Jenkins, BitBucket, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Familiarity with
    infrastructure as code
    (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar).
  • Experience with
    application migration to AWS
    from on-prem or hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with observability tools (Uptrends, Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Familiarity with network and application security in the cloud.
  • Prior experience in automotive or manufacturing SaaS environments.

This role has a location preference for candidates based in the United States, Bogotá (Colombia), or Buenos Aires (Argentina).
