An excellent opportunity to join Betsson Group as our new Legal Counsel for LATAM.
The WowAs a key member of Betsson's Legal Team, you'll work closely with multiple business units, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice across the region. You'll review and negotiate contracts, manage litigation, interpret legal requirements, and counsel business leaders on substantive legal issues — always ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals.
You'll collaborate with our Legal and Compliance teams and support various departments, particularly Commercial, Corporate, Labour, and Intellectual Property, while managing ad-hoc legal projects and transactions as needed.
This position is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and reports to the Head of Legal for the LATAM Region (covering Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Argentina). Some international travel may be required.
A taster of what you will be involved with:- Advise and counsel the organisation on a wide range of legal matters and complex projects.
- Identify legal issues, assess risks, and develop effective, business-oriented solutions.
- Promote early legal involvement across business functions to mitigate risks.
- Act as legal counsel in all contractual, labour, and statutory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial, gaming, and betting contracts, ensuring compliance with corporate standards
- Negotiate directly with commercial partners, gaming, and betting providers.
- .Manage ongoing contract administration and renewals.
- Support business negotiations with other third-party service providers.
- Provide substantiated legal recommendations to guide management decisions.
- Handle disputes, litigation, and investigations independently.
- Deliver training to internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics.
- Mentor and support junior lawyers, paralegals, and support staff within the team.
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of experience at a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel for a multinational company.
- Strong track record in providing practical, business-oriented legal guidance to international organisations.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, drafting, and closure of complex commercial transactions
- Understanding of legal and compliance risk management within regulated industries.
- Proactive, decisive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English – written and spoken.
LL.M. in Commercial or Corporate Law.
Experience in IT, E-Commerce, or Online Gaming industries.
Additional language skills (Portuguese or Spanish) are a plus.
