Senior Director
Full-time, Exempt
Description:
The Senior Director is a member of RHA's leadership team and provides leadership, managerial oversight and direction to the programs they manage. The Senior Director will lead and oversee the people, sub-contractors, administrative, planning and operations of their respective program(s) in accordance with the scope of work, terms and conditions contained in the contract and program management plan. The Senior Director will maintain responsibility for departmental and project budgets, reporting and invoicing, as well as overseeing employee development responsibilities. The Director will also be a key client point of contact, manage escalated issues with the client and support RHA's business development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate program execution
- Prepare plans to meet program goals to ensure on time completion of contractual tasks according to quality and other specific standards.
- Design administrative and operations systems and processes for execution by senior staff within program.
- Plan for and implement senior level program staffing and other resources needed to fulfill program deliverables.
- Review work product before delivery to the client to ensure content is well written and consistent with agreed upon strategy.
- Track and report on major program progress/deliverables.
- Maintain full knowledge of significant program elements including program changes and updates.
- Provide insight and advice to Program Managers on deliverable execution, processes, and resource allocation.
- Establish and facilitate cross functional teams.
- Design and lead team building and staff development initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the program manager(s) to ensure program(s) success.
- Oversee sub-contractor management
- Liaise between RHA, client and sub-contractors.
- Oversee sub-contractor performance deliverables.
- Represent RHA with Client
- Serve as client's primary point of senior level contact.
- Interface with technical staff to enhance program offering.
- Personally address escalated issue.
- Manage program leadership staff
- Develop, hire and train managers.
- Coach and manage program leaders to reach program goals.
- Provide leadership to program managers.
- Ensure safety compliance.
- Oversee Program Data Reporting
- Determine program reporting requirements.
- Analyze program data to track and measure level of progress.
- Oversee Invoicing and Billing
- Approve final processing of major invoices.
- Monitor monthly invoices to ensure receivables and payables are on track.
- Manage program budget.
- Support Business Development
- In conjunction with Business Development staff and the RHA executive team, research and establish new business opportunities for Residential Energy Efficiency
- Recommend and support proposals for new business for Residential Energy Efficiency
- Establish scope of work and assist with budget and writing proposals.
- In coordination with CEO and CFO, negotiate terms of new or renewed contracts with client(s).
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of increasing responsibilities in program or project management – preferably in an energy efficiency and/or utility-related environment.
- 3-5 of those years preferably in direct program management for a large program/project, preferably within the utility, building sciences, and/or energy efficiency industry.
- Must have experience negotiating and dealing with senior level clients.
- Excellent public relations and negotiations skills.
- Strategic and planning skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels - Excellent written and oral skills.
- Working level skills in Word, Excel and Power Point programs.
- Ability to make budget and program decisions and projections based on excel spreadsheets and data-based reports.
- Knowledge of types of budgets and budgeting processes.
- Preferred - Knowledge of demand side management; utility conservation programs; Community based organization budget and operations; some knowledge of building trades and practices.
- Knowledge of project/ program tracking methods.
- Ability to prioritize and organize demands.
- The range for this position is between $200,00 - $225,000 annually and is determined based on factors such as skills and experience
