Role Overview As a Senior Data Scientist & Data Architect, you will play a dual role in leading high-level machine learning initiatives while architecting scalable, secure, and efficient data ecosystems. This is a strategic role ideal for a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable with modeling, analytics, cloud engineering, and stakeholder collaboration. We are specifically looking for someone trained in the U.S. or with strong U.S. enterprise experience, and who understands how to build data systems that support global or LATAM operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect end-to-end data platforms, integrating structured and unstructured data across multiple sources and environments (cloud, on-premise, APIs, etc.)Lead development and deployment of machine learning models that directly impact business outcomes (predictive analytics, personalization, risk scoring, NLP, etc.)Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate strategic objectives into scalable data solutionsEstablish data governance, security, and compliance best practicesMentor junior data scientists and engineers; help establish data culture and best practicesOptimize data storage, processing, and retrieval using technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similarDesign and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data streams, and ML pipelinesRequired Qualifications8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and data architectureDeep expertise in Python, SQL, and at least one other language (e.g., R, Scala, or Java)Strong hands-on experience with data warehousing, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect)Proven experience in deploying ML models in production environments (MLOps, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (PhD or MS preferred)Familiarity with US regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, etc.) and industry standardsStrong communication and leadership skills; ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholdersFluent in English and Spanish or PortuguesePreferred QualificationsExperience with data products in healthcare, finance, or consumer applicationsUS work experience or training from a U.S. institution (academic or corporate)Familiarity with LATAM market data infrastructure challenges and compliance landscapeExperience leading data teams in a high-growth, remote-first environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive USD salary (commensurate with experience)Flexible remote-first work environmentPaid time off & local holidays observedHealth and wellness stipendsOpportunity to make a global impact and grow with a mission-driven company
