Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta's Direct Procurement team is seeking a Direct Procurement Buyer in Vicente Lopez, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Accountabilities 

1. Direct Materials Procurement

  • Lead purchasing processes
  • Optimize cost-benefit ratios
  • Ensure quality standards
  • Monitor delivery timelines

2. Strategic Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain key partnerships
  • Coordinate performance evaluations and audits
  • Negotiate agreements
  • Drive supplier development programs

3. Category Management

  • Handle high-value purchasing categories
  • Analyze supplier markets
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure policy compliance

4. Strategic Analysis & Planning

  • Develop sourcing strategies
  • Perform spend analysis
  • Manage budget and forecasts
  • Monitor market trends and pricing
Qualifications

Required  

  • Minimum 3 years in purchasing/procurement
  • Experience negotiating high-value contracts
  • Knowledge in supplier management and strategic sourcing
  • Advanced Excel
  • Advanced English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance

Desired 

  • Chemical/agrochemical industry experience
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Knowledge of Portuguese
