What you`ll do:
As part of the SAP Sustainability growth unit, this key role is dedicated to transforming our customers into intelligent, sustainable enterprises by demonstrating the value of ERP-centric sustainability. The Global Sustainability team seeks candidates who are passionate about helping customers achieve their sustainability ambitions, not just reporting on them.
Experience positioning SAP private/public cloud and ERP cloud transformation is essential to selling the transformational value of ERP-centric Sustainability. Your primary focus is driving further market penetration for our sustainability solutions to both private and public cloud customers by identifying and nurturing new/upsell/cross-sell opportunities. Nurturing these opportunities will involve safeguarding customer success across the customer value journey and navigating key stakeholders to demonstrate the synergies and value across SAP's Sustainability L1 solution portfolio. You will also drive the penetration of this portfolio into SAP install accounts.
The successful Sustainability Principal candidate will ideally bring expertise in cloud ERP transformation and either supply chain, finance or BTP solutions. The successful candidate will either have current expertise in sustainability and the regulatory landscape or to have a passion for sustainability and be willing to learn. The ideal candidate can navigate SAP account team dynamics and partners, position the value of the L1 Sustainability solutions, and drive the next steps with critical customer stakeholders, including the CSO, CFO, CPO, and CIO, leveraging the appropriate expert resources within SAP. As part of a global Sustainability GTM community of subject matter experts, you share and apply learning from your peers to support continuous improvement and scale. It's a demanding set of skills and a unique opportunity for a true change maker in a unit of strategic importance to SAP's overall strategy.
Focus:
- Drive ERP-Centric Sustainability Value Proposition to both the public and private cloud install base as well as net new customers.
- Drives penetration of Sustainability portfolio into both install base and net new accounts aligned to our priority industries.
- Strategically nurtures Sustainability initiatives in install base accounts driving upsell opportunities.
- Positions Services or Partner portfolio with license opportunity where appropriate
- Has the ability to lead consultative customer engagements, with a broad understanding of underlying SAP solutions, business processes, and industry value chains.Leverages a discovery-based approach to uncover customer pain points and priorities. Applies knowledge of our sustainability solutions into compelling value propositions.
- Evangelizes SAP's sustainability portfolio capabilities with account teams including coaching and upskilling VAT team members capabilities through customer engagements and enablement to scale knowledge.
- Acts as the voice of the customer and field providing feedback to Product Engineering and Marketing.
- Stays abreast of solution capabilities and roadmaps.
- Collaborates with the Sustainability Adoption team and partners
- Participates in best practice sharing with other Regional Sustainability Principals and Leads.
- Takes ownership of delivering on regional sustainability KPI's including growing customer base/bookings and delivering successful go-lives and references.

- This role reports to the Americas Sustainability Principal Director
Qualifications:
- Customer focused
- Knowledge of our private and public cloud offerings, BTP and Sustainability L1 portfolio
- Sustainability knowledge and SAP customer facing experience in a software sales/pre-sales/consulting capacity.
- Industry expertise in one of the focus industries for Sustainability
- Knowledge and experience in Value Selling and RISE Value Framework
- Knowledge of DSC and BTP portfolio and business processes
- Bachelor/Master's Degree
- 10+ years in sales, pre-sales, sustainability, or consultative engagement.
- Ability to collaborate, drive teamwork
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of and ability to position the value of SAP's private and public cloud offerings and L1 Sustainability solutions, possess a passion to learn from other subject matter experts.
- Anticipate, recognize, and address any customer challenges/issues/opportunities in a timely manner, meeting and/or exceeding expectations and managing risks.
- Experience leading and collaborating in cross-functional teams (including executive, peer, customer, services and partner).
- Ability to mentor peers to scale knowledge and drive to common purposes and goals.
- Proven ability to turn strategies into actionable plans, leveraging a matrixed organization to support the change.
- Knowledge of sustainability and related regulations including SAP customer challenges across industries.
- Manage sustainability pipeline for your assigned territory including opportunity identification, day to day tracking and VAT collaboration.
- High energy and commitment with a track record of delivering results in a sales/presales environment
