SAP Basis Engineer – Level 2 (L2)

Experience: 6–8 years of relevant experience

Role Summary:

The L2 SAP Basis Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing SAP

environments, ensuring high availability, security, and smooth operations of ERP and ecommerce

platforms. This role provides technical support, performs proactive maintenance, and collaborates with

cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and support SAP ERP platforms (ECC, BW, PO, etc.).

• Duplicate SAP systems using SAP-approved data replication methods.

• Migrate SAP systems between platforms.

• Support the Global PO team in migrating interfaces to SAP Integration Suite.

• Plan and execute lifecycle activities to keep SAP ERP secure, functional, and supportable.

• Perform DR tests and provide after-hours support on a rotating 24x7 schedule.

• Apply platform patches, perform technical upgrades, and enhance platform environments.

• Set up monitoring points and alerts for proactive system management.

• Create and maintain documentation for administration policies and practices.

• Support Managed Service Provider teams in applying Standard Operational Procedures.

Skills & Competencies:

• Hands-on experience with SAP BASIS administration and multiple SAP products.

• Strong technical foundation and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of SAP Security.

• Experience with ecommerce platforms (mandatory).

• Self-motivated, proactive, and strong team player.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to coach junior colleagues.

SAP Basis Engineer – Level 3 (L3)

Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience

Role Summary:

The L3 SAP Basis Engineer is a subject matter expert responsible for the highest level of SAP system

administration. This role drives system improvements, resolves critical incidents, and provides guidance

across teams while ensuring high availability, performance, and security of SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage SAP system installations, configurations, and upgrades (ECC, BW, PO, etc.).

• Administer SAP HANA databases, perform system tuning, and resolve issues.

• Duplicate SAP systems using SAP-approved data replication methods.

• Support the Global PO team in migrating interfaces to SAP Integration Suite.

• Plan and execute lifecycle activities to ensure SAP ERP is secure, functional, and supportable.

• Proactively apply platform patches, upgrades, and improvements.

• Handle SAP security, system hardening, and critical incident management.

• Work with cross-functional teams for smooth project execution.

• Create and maintain platform administration documentation.

• Identify and manage risks, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

• SME in SAP BASIS administration with experience across multiple SAP products.

• High autonomy and strong problem-solving skills.

• Experience managing large environments: 20k+ users, 10TB+ databases.

• Ability to engage with multiple teams, respond to senior management, and manage escalations.

• Self-motivated, proactive, team player, and capable of coaching junior colleagues.

• Open to learning new technologies and adopting changes.

• English B2+.
