About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to join a high-impact project in the mining industry, focused on delivering large-scale data modeling, engineering, and analytics solutions using modern cloud and AI technologies.

This is a hands-on and strategic role that blends technical depth with stakeholder collaboration, as you'll be responsible for building data products that power operational insights and machine learning at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Analytics Delivery

  • Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines in Azure and Databricks.

  • Model structured and unstructured sensor data for advanced analytics use cases.

  • Process large volumes of mining data using Python, Spark, and cloud-native tools.

  • Implement descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics workflows.

  • Contribute to MLOps and DataOps practices, ensuring efficient deployment cycles.

  • Build and maintain data lineage, metadata, and documentation for pipelines.

  • Create impactful dashboards and data products for internal stakeholders.

AI & ML Enablement

  • Apply AI/ML techniques including regression, clustering, LLMs, OpenAI APIs, vision, and translation to solve business problems.

  • Work with platforms like Azure Machine Learning, Databricks ML, and cognitive services from major cloud providers.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Actively participate in roadmap discussions and product planning.

  • Work closely with Solution Architects, data scientists, and business analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to validate solutions and ensure continuous delivery of value.

  • Mentor peers and foster knowledge sharing within the team.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data modeling, or advanced analytics.

  • Proficiency with Azure and modern cloud-based data architectures.

  • Deep hands-on experience with Databricks, Airflow, Python, SQL, and Spark.

  • Solid knowledge of data warehouse concepts and methodologies (e.g., star/snowflake schema).

  • Demonstrated ability to implement ML/AI components within data platforms.

  • Strong grasp of software engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, clean code).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with clients and diverse stakeholders.

  • English and Spanish fluency (C1 or higher).

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with industrial, mining, or manufacturing datasets and environments.

  • Familiarity with Kafka, Kinesis, streaming architectures.

  • Knowledge of Neo4j, CosmosDB, NoSQL models.

  • Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or similar AI platforms.
