Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with expertise in Python and/or Node-based projects to join our engineering team. Our ideal candidate has around five years of experience in Backend development and collaborating and contributing creatively and accurately in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time consultancy. We offer the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with a team of engineers, designers, and AI specialists to ideate, design, and build a new product.
  • Writing the backend platform to translate and generate content, connect to external APIs, and receive requests from our user-facing systems.
  • Managing each feature end-to-end: from initial specs to delivery.
  • Creating automated tests to ensure the quality of your code.
  • Mentoring your less experienced teammates, creating opportunities for their growth, and fostering a collaborative culture.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience building backend features, ideally in Python and Typescript.
  • Solid understanding of databases.
  • Experience building and consuming APIs.
  • Experience with async programming.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver production-ready systems that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Experience in system design and infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A soft spot for functional programming and experience using strong typed languages.
  • Experience writing distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of AWS is appreciated.
  • Experience with TDD.
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
